Tiana Major9, an up and coming soul singer from east London, described by VICE as a ‘singular voice in black British soul’, has signed to Universal Music’s American imprint Motown Records.
Blending elements of jazz, R&B and hip-hop, she released her Rehearsal @ NINE EP last year, and collaborated with Stormzy on his track Rainfall. Since then, Major9 has joined the rapper on stage at the 2020 BRITs, and performed with American duo EarthGang at the Billboard Women in Music ceremony. Her 2020 single, Collide, was included on the soundtrack for Melina Matsoukas and Lena Waithe’s film Queen & Slim, with the accompanying video reaching nearly three million YouTube views.
